Title: Sound problems on Universal 8116-2A MPU
Post by: TopDogElec on May 19, 2018, 12:49:18 PM
Not sure what the problem would be, sound chip or amplifier I cannot locate, but no sound at all from this machine. Any ideas where the amplifier if any is at on this? I thought I had read that it was behind the reels but I didn't see anything. It does look like the wires run into the mechanical counter box on the right side, could it be in there possibly? Anyone have any ideas?

There should be a volume control knob on that same box on the right.

Check the speaker first with a Ohm meter, it should read about 8 Ohms.

There is no resistance at all across the terminals of the speaker, I am assuming it is dead then. I did read voltage across the terminals so it seems like a speaker replacement is needed. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it
