Title: Error "Door Open - Cash Box (Bill Acceptor)" MkVI - MAV500 model
Post by: DreamMaster on March 21, 2018, 06:55:27 PM
I have an error message on the screen at boot up on my Mark 6 MAV500 model Aristocrat machine.
Exact wording on screen is:
"Door Open - Cash Box (Bill Acceptor)"

I'm thinking it might indicate my belly door is not sensing the closed position.
Took a working switch from another part on the machine - I know the switch is working mechanically.
When the switch is pressed and released - no sounds at all.
This tells me there is a problem elsewhere in the system.
I'm needing to know if someone knows which pins I could jump on the backplane board to test if I can bypass this error?
I'm trying to isolate and locate the actual problem part.... harness, board ????

Anyone know how I can bypass this closer to the boards versus the cable and switch?
Thanks
Brad

that should be the little half white door in front of the cash box itself.  if i recall right there is a switch under the BV assembly that gets depressed when the cash can door is closed

It's been a while since I posted that question.

Here is what the issue was in my case.
Under the cash can there is suppose to be a plastic piece that forces the contacts of the contacts on the cash can into the contacts on the machine. Without this plastic wedge, it won't hold tight, thus throwing the error message.
Bought the machine used from a dealer and it was missing.
temp solution was a 1X4 to pressure it at the right height.
