Title: Atronic emoticon
Post by: Delma on August 09, 2016, 02:09:56 PM
 :EmoticonHelp4:

Have the deal or no deal atronic.   Was working fine monitor is out.  I power cycled the game and it ran through the whole load process and the bv cycled as well.  Still no picture?  What is best way to troubleshoot.  I've never worked on them and it seems as though video cable to monitor is under " lock and key"  any help on this issue is appreciated

Is it only one monitor that is out or both?  The video cables go under the MPU shelf and connect to the video card.  Bad design on the connection so may be loose.

Most likely bad video card but look at those cable connections to the card and make sure they are attached correctly.  Not much holding them in place.

You will have to ram clear changing out video cards as long as you don't change anything else.  Another person here on NLG had a similar problem where one of the monitors was not displaying and he ended up changing out the video card to fix it.  No ram clear was required.

Correction, I meant to say no ram clear is required if just changing out the video card.

Ok...thank you for your reply.  I took the video card over to the game tjat was not online I place the working card into it and top screen started to boot as did the lower buy the lower screen was displaced and wavey, somewhat fuzzy, out of focus if you will.  The the top screen shut off...then the top and bottom.  I replace old card got nothing.  Went back to new card same response.

I took the video card to the working cabinet and plugged it in.   I it started working, booted, clear and good video for both top and bottom screen.  Mind you this was not the original board this v board came from the second not working cabinet...so video card is good.  What do you think :hissyfit:

Well, not likely that both top and bottom monitors go bad at the same time.  So video card is good which leaves something wrong with backplane mother board the card plugs into.  This is a can of worms since you have to use clear chips to set the machine up all over again and transfer the ram, and other devices too.

So I need to find a clear card as well as a back plane... to keep troubleshooting.  You have any idea where I can get those.   :banghead:

Is is not a clear card, it's clear chips. Did this machine have a progressive?  If so, you need to be able to set this game up using a laptop.

Also, when you open the door to where the CD player drive is are there 2 boards in there or 1 board above it?  That would tell me whether you need 2 or 3 clear chips.

Here is a link to the board you may need.  That price is for a new one but I'm sure a good used tested one can be found for less.  I think they also have those too.
