Installed a wba13 into an S+ The issue is bills are not accepting - holds them for 3 secs or so and spits them back (DOLLAR BILL which should take)
Using known good transports - bill heads - cash box - 10mhz and 16mhz boards - using SP1271 - different motherboards)
The settings are 5/0 for the to credit - used a set15 and a set90
the limits 7 1,2,3,5 are 1000 8 is 1
What i read from older threads regarding holding bill for a few seconds indicates settings.

When in settings mode, did you go to 9 and change it from 0 to 1?
-
9/1 YES - during SET.

Barry, does the insert coin light flicker as well?? if so then try changing switch # 2 on the WBA, I am doing this from memory, so I think its #2, it could be #1 or maybe that only applies to PE+. anyway try it, that changes the IDO setting on the WBA to match the game protocol.

I will try BUT - why would the wba work in another game with the same boards - bv etc?
-
If that's the case then I would suspect the wba power supply , it has the I/O board that passes the info from the wba to the cpu. check the connector that the mates up with the connector under the reel shelf, then check the connection at the motherboard.
the data path is form the wba to the I/o board, out of the wba power supply to the connector, from the connector to the connector on the mother board, from that connector to the cpu board. and reverse going back to the wba. some thing is not passing the information!

that makes a lot of sense - since that is the only area not covered by my switching out parts. thank you

I'm going to ask a question that's going to make me sound stupid.. :arrowthruhead: It's not going to be my first or last time.. :fryingpan:
I didn't know that you could run a WBA13 in a S+ machine. I thought you could only run a WBA11 or WBA12 in them. I know they are interchangeable on the S2000 machines.. I know the difference between a 12 & 13 is that the 12 if flashed, where the 13 is Eprom based.. I didn't think you could run 3.80 on the S+, only the S2000? Reason I'm curious is that I have a S+ Haywire with a DBV200, but I have a WBA setup in a different S+ cabinet that I was thinking of swapping into the Haywire machine..

right on JIM - there was a broken wire in the harness - hard to see - only after i removed the bv housing. HOWEVER!!!! - old topic still rears its ugly head - I cannot get 16MHZ boards to work. 10mhz work fine. I will close out this thread but I am out of 10mhz boards and really would like to find a use for all the 16s I have.
-
Barry, glad you got it working! I have a S+ top Dollar, it runs a 16 meg board and has a WBA installed, and accepts the bills. it is using an SP 1024.
Gary: you can't run a 3.80 from a S-2000, its ID024, however you can use an S+ 3.75 with a IDO23, flashed or eprom!

game is a Haywire using SS3732 and SP1146 on 16mhz - not accept bills - changing to a 10mhz - using the SS3732 and SP1274 accept bills. Nothing changed - no set - same parts.

Thanks Jim. 3.75 ID023 will allow me to run everything except the new $100 bills?
