Title: Quiet Sound on Bally 5000 Series
Post by: mateo107 on April 26, 2017, 03:13:06 PM
So I've got a Bally 5000 Series board and it has quiet sound output.

I checked the potentiometer and it seems to be working properly.  I checked the audio amp and that seemed okay too.

Just because I had a spare new one TDA2003 (I think), I replaced the audio amp, but the music and sound is still really quiet.  Should I just replace the pot too or is there anything else I should be looking into?

It could be the pot or it could be one of the series capacitors going to the speaker, or the speaker itself that is bad.

Double checked the POT ... seems okay.

Found one of the capacitors was dead/bad.

Replaced but same problem, although not sure the capacitor I used is "good good".    It does increment up on my meter, but it's much much lower in value than the other right next to it.

Like, one of the caps starts around 20, and climbs from there.
This one starts around .015 and stops around .020

Does anyone know what Rhodes values SHOULD be?  They're both 470uF 25V.
