Title: IGT PE+ Multi-Poker back from the dead
Post by: 65ImpalaSS on September 07, 2017, 06:48:09 PM
Just wanted to share, another one back from the dead.  Purchased for $20, less $5.75 worth of quarters in the cabinet, plus $7 for a new battery.  Running like a champ...

Wow - less than $20 in it, what a deal, good job!    :cool_thumb_up:

Thanks.  Yeah, I think the Craigslist ad scared everyone away.  It said it "needed restoring"...

Did the seller have the door key? If so why'd they leave all the coins inside?

Yep, two door keys and a jackpot reset key.  I think it was just apathy.  There were a few in the hopper carousel, most were on the cabinet floor behind the hopper and power supply.

It was pretty silly how easy it was to get her up and running again.  I might have a few button lights that need to be replaced.  The only ones working are the deal/draw and bet max credits.  Do the cash out or bet 1 credits buttons have lights?  How about the hold buttons?

Also, I get an occasional loud buzzing coming from the CC.  Is there something I can do to clean/rehab the CC unit?  Thanks...

There's a capacitor on the coin comparitor, it's in the circuit for the solenoid that works the coin rake, I think that replacing that capacitor sometimes helps with the buzzing. You can also feel to see if any of the mechanical moving parts are overly loose and chattering. For home use people sometimes disconnect the solenoid to quiet it, you would need to force the rake into the "coin accepted" position by sticking a folded piece of paper or similar under it. But that would let all deposited coins go to the hopper, so someone could slip a smaller coin into the machine and cause a hopper problem. You can get a replacement cc for not a big cost.

I think all of those player deck pushbuttons have bulbs inside, but you can check by looking up from the bottom to see the wires going to the buttons. There will be a pair of wires for the button switch and a second pair of wires for a bulb if there is one. The exception might be the dark red colored button over to the left side for change/call attendant, I don't think it has a bulb inside. Basically, if the pushbutton has a clear or white lens there is probably a bulb inside.

Thanks for the CC info.

I replaced all the bulbs, except for the one on the far right.  Will have to remove the CC to get access to that one...
