Title: Bally Alpha wont start when cold

Hi All, I have a Bally Alpha  that wont start not only when its cold but even at room temperature. When i hit power to the 3 switches in order, the second switch will just make the reels go into a shaking motion.  When the machine is fully warm (usually by placing a space heater in front of the machine for a few minutes) the machine powers up and plays just fine. Any reason for this or a part i can swap out to avoid this problem?

I would start by checking the Power Supplies.

On a 1-gig they are temp. oriented,  Look at the front lower left on the mpu "temp".  From my memory you can even look at what's what in the settings and their fail/default values.  There will also be lights illuminated at that port when in fault.  Haven't been on here that much lately and it's just getting busier.

I swapped out the power supplies. That seemed to resolve the problem. Thanks everyone.

Recap the replaced power supplies, don't throw them away.  That fixes 99% of the issues.
