Hi, picked up a Double Lucky 7's machine last week. (dated 12/96)
Got her plugged in.. had a 3100 code.. cleared that. Then 12 came up, replaced battery, code cleared. (yes the polarity is correct) Started machine back up, 61 code, reset to 61-1 shut the door turned the key and 61 code is back. From what I've been reading I'm in the "dreaded 61 loop"
Is there anything I might be missing? Emitters are hooked up and seemed to be aligned just fine. There are no wires to the cash box. I also pulled the chip for several seconds and it just did the same cycle of 61 to 61-1 back to 61.
From what I've gathered I'm at the last resort for doing a clear.
Thanks in advance! I'm new here and looking forward to playing.

First thing to do is pull the CMOS chip for 10 seconds and replace. Be careful not to bend the prongs or turn the chip upside down.
If that does not work you will need to clear it with a clear chip

Still getting the 61 code.

You need to clear it with a clear chip.
Someone should chime in and offer you one or post in the classified section

I can send you a clear chip. If you have a bill validator you will also need a set chip after you clear to set the denom & enable the BV.
PM if interested.

Thanks for all your help, Ron! Everything is now operational. Couldn't have been easier honestly. Always nervous at first diving into uncharted territory, but makes me want to find another machine.
