Title: S+ 61-61-1 lock up FIX
Post by: 61Wally on November 01, 2021, 01:10:56 AM
I was working on a 5 times pay, three reel, quarter machine. No matter what I tried, after reading many posts nothing worked to continue past the 61-1. My understanding is that the Board needs to see the door in the open and closed state. After many hours of researching I found the 2 wires going to the cash door switch were crimped together as they should be to bypass the door switch. I happened to notice, the way they are routed  from the door over to the cash can hinge, they are secured with many small zip ties. Right at the hinge on the bottom left of the door they take an almost “U” turn under the housing. Right at that spot there is a zip tie. I found that over time, ( even though it's stranded wire ) the insulation was intact but the wires inside were broken. I have another one of these machines, that I had the same problem with and couldn't fix so through it to the side for scrap/parts. Low & Behold those wires on that machine had done the same issue, broken wire, but insulation made it look OK. On both machines I cut the wires back at that point and terminated. Now 61-1 error continues to 65-3 and programming finished. 2 machines up and running!!!
