New board installed
« on: January 10, 2025, 09:01:06 AM »
Please help. My clear chip is trying to crawl out from under my mattress and I can't be held responsible if he gets out. I have s2000 but got talked into working on a splus for a friend . Board was visibly bad. Got used board, tested and new battery. Installed , got a 61 , pressed our little white friend, got the bonk and 61-1 but close door and turn key wouldn't clear. And now I can't even get 61-1. Stuck at 61. Going backwards. Keep looking over at my mattress . It's a slant top double diamond machine that wants to double as a boat anchor. Any help wba

 :NLG_WELCOME:
Two things can be wrong.
1). The door optics aren't working.
2). You're stuck in the [61] Loop.

Check the door emitter optic by turning ON the power switch and peering at the emitter lens with a digital camera such as a cellphone camera.
You should see a blue-ish light coming out of it.
If there's no light, replace with a new one.
To check the cabinet receiver optic requires a multimeter to measure voltage going thru the diode by shining light at it.
If you don't have a digital multimeter to check the receiver optic, perform the next steps.

                                          ***Warning***
This WILL disable the bill validator AND erase ALL settings and internal accounting.
Read and then decide if you still want to use a Clear chip.

Turn OFF the power switch.
Pull out the MPU and remove the SP GAME chip.
Put in the Clear chip.
Turn ON the power switch.
Clear it twice.
Let the numbers run up to 999, then push the little white test button again and run it up to 999 again.
Once complete, turn OFF the power switch.
Pull out the Clear chip and put back in the SP GAME chip.
Turn ON the power switch.
You may get the [61] again but hold the test button until you get [61-1], then close the door and turn the Jackpot Reset key once to clear the [61-1].
The reels will spin backwards from right to left.
If the lamp isn't burned out, the "Insert Coin" light should come ON.

What SP chip do you have?
I can show you the rest of the set-up for that particular chip.
Also, do you have a SET chip to re-enable the bill validator?
If not, you will only be able to use coins, until you get the proper SET chip for your SP chip.

I forgot you're working on a slant sit-down model.
Are there door optics on the machine?
Or does it just use a cherry switch?

If it's a slant top machine, make sure you have the belly door completely installed and latched in place when trying to get past the 61-1. Most slant top machines have a sensor on the belly door that is wired in-line with the door optics circuit. If the belly door is open or removed, the machine may not see the main door as closed.

A little lost on how to reply. So if this isn't the right spot I am sorry. Not a computer wizard but wanted to say thanks to every one that helped me. It wasn't a slant back that I was working on. I have a slant back that I have here to work on but  wasn't the one that I was currently working on. Was sitting here staring at it when I was typing the question, my bad. After installing the new board the other problem was door optics so thanks for the advice. Still acts a little  strange when going thru menu settings. Will a SP731 chip work in a triple triple diamond machine?

Most of the time, yes.
What SS REEL chip do you have in there and are you using a 10 or 16Mhz board?

okay, it sounds like you have a 97% chip for the TTD 3R1L2CM - a Type 0 game with a multiplier.
The SP731 GAME chip is a Type 0 program for a 10Mhz board - it will work just fine.

Looking at the awards table, it has a multiplier of 81 times pay!
If you were ever to hit a biggie like the 10,000-credit winning award, that machine would have to play for years to get back in the black - playing at max 2 credits per pull.
Here's the kicker, that SS Reel chip is programmed to hit only once in ten million pulls.

TTD= 200 stops per reel, only one way to get top JP= (200x200x200)/1= 8 Million to 1 odds to hit top JP.

There's a chip only 1% higher.
Tell your customer to have better luck.  :rotfl:
