Identify Wells Gardner 17" Monitor
« on: March 22, 2021, 09:20:09 AM »
I am parting out a VLC 8725 Slot and was looking to get any info on the monitor before I list it.  I am having absolutely no luck googling the two numbers that are all over it, WG 1361267 is on the chassis frame and picture tube and WGM1770-U2TS19G On what looks like a shield around the flyback.  I am used to seeing like K7000 or K4600 but find nothing like that here.  Any ideas?

Answer is in the 1st photo:  It's a K7689 model.  This is part of the K7000 series.  They made dozens of variations in each "series".
Connector and flyback is in the same place as the K7000s I've seen, and the cap locations I can see look like they match K7000 cap maps...

Interestingly, that sticker also says it's for "120V 50Hz".  Only places I see with 120V 50Hz power are Japan and Jamaica...

Thanks for the info.  And also, that IS kinda interesting that it says 50Hz.  Looking up the specs for the K7000 series says 50-60Hz. Anyway, works great, came out of a machine from Trumps Taj Mahal, even has the NJ on the game plate.

Yeah, I always thought it would make more sense to call is the "K7xxx" series".  I've never actually seen a "K7000" model.

According to the manual I've got: the 78xx were 13", the 77xx were 9" and the 76xx and 79xx were 19" models.  Don't think I've seen any more detailed break-down of the 7xxx series model numbering system.

WG used to have a serial number lookup function on their webpage, where you could enter the WG SN (like your 1361267) and it would tell you the model and manuf. date.  But it hasn't worked in years:  https://wellsgardner.com/serial-number-lookup/
