1936 Jennings 4 Star Prosperity Award 10 cent Slot Machine

Question
I have a 1936 Jennings Prosperity Award slot machine and I would like more information. When I got this machine many years ago, it had the windows for the award tokens blocked out and the award card had been changed. The reels had the Prosperity Award stops blocked and they put pieces of reel strips to cover the prosperity award symbols. I removed the pieces of strips to reveal the Prosperity Award symbols and removed the stop washers and screws so the reels could work properly. I put glass in the award windows and bought some repro award tokens. I cannot find the original award card but just a repro. The slot is in good working condition and when you hit the 3 prosperity award symbols it drops the token into the tray. What value could be placed on this slot?

Serial Number is 124987

Thank you

That's a great looking Jennings! Thanks for posting the good photos too.
That's a tough call on value. I'd take a wild stab at $1500 - $2000 but I'm not the Jennings expert yet - although I now have 3 of them.
I'm going to PM a MUCH more educated member and he'll reply soon.
You may want to check out the forum: coinopcollectorforum.com for more information. Sadly it's not at all as active as it was a few years ago, but there's some great information there.
The other one is in the UK: pennymachines.co.uk
Search Jennings in both.

Stand by!

ljwayne5451,

Nice looking machine.  Is there a story to the green trim around the base?  As for the value.  I think shortrackskater pretty much hit it.  There also seems to be a lesser demand for the 10ยข machines.

I agree with the 2 previous responses, nice machine however i think due to it not being 100% original that will hurt your price a little. I,m thinking between one thousand and twelve hundred dollars. For what it,s worth i always liked dime machines but many people tend to steer clear of them due to frequent coin jams.Either way , good luck, The wizard.

Now the big question is: Will he log back on to see the answers?!  :24:
This happens quite frequently here. We respond and the OP disappears.
Where are you PinBallwizard55?  :Scratch-Head:
