AVP Game King, Changing Percentages, Denominations, Adding Games,

Someone if offering an IGT AVP Game King for sale.  While I have had older Game Kings (6.2, 5.something) I am unfamiliar with the AVP.  The person selling it knows nothing about slots.
Can anyone tell me how difficult it is on an AVP to change bet denominations, percentage pays, or to add or remove games that are within the GK portfolio?  Is a simple chip required as with the GK 6.2 or is computerization involved? 
As someone who knows just enough to get myself in trouble, is the machine so complicated that I'm inviting problems by purchasing it?

if it is an AVP you will need an EKey7 to make any changes

Are they expensive?  Is it complicated to make changes?

Yes they are expensive and changes are straight forward once you understand the procedure
