WBA-12 rejecting all currency

(1/1)

Skoon:
Hi All...  Relatively new registrant to this site, and thus far you all have been amazing.  I wasn't much of a DIY'er for these previously, but am beginning to realize it's not as intimidating as I originally thought.

I have had an S2000 and GK 6.0 machine for awhile.  The S2000 has been working fine (save some faded reel strips), but my GK was damaged in a move.   After letting it sit for too long, decided to try and get it up and working again.   With some awesome assistance from sixcardmark on a different board, managed to get it up and working save a few minor issue(s).

Each machine has a WBA-12-SS in it.  The BV in the GK machine was throwing a jam fault after I got it working.  After cleaning the lenses from the inside, the jam tilt went away, but it will no longer accept money.  It pulls it all the way in and spits it back out.  It does this for all denominations and orientations I have tried.

The BV that was in the S2000 can accept $1, $5, $20 bills fine so I tried swapping then, and the S2000 BV works in the GK and the GK BV similarly fails in in the S2000.

I've been trolling through the forum here the past day to see if there was a fix but haven't seen any, so thought I'd try a new post.   TBH, I really would love for these to accept larger bills / modern currency, so maybe the discussion is to find away to get them flashed / replaced (that and I broke the GK bezel  :sillyme: )  I did follow a suggestion to PM another user on that front, but would be cool to fix this if I can :)

TIA

Are the bills being pulled in smoothly?  These WBA validators are so old that sometimes the rubber washers on the rollers dry up and do not pull the bill as needed.  Replacing the rubber washers will fix that issue.  Sometimes just cleaning the rubber washers will do the trick.  You could also have a calibration issue.  There's a thread here somewhere of someone who made calibration paper using construction paper (you need the deepest black and the lightest white).  The post references the dimensions.  JCM no longer makes the calibration paper and it is impossible to find at this point in time, so making your own is the only way.

Yes...  pulls bill in smoothly, waits about a second, then spits it back out.  Did ensure everything was clean / gripped well.

I found the post on the calibration card.  I'll have to make / try that.

Is there a different brand / replacement / model for the WBA that people are moving to if the WBA-12 is outdated fast works with S2000 / GK machines?

Yes: https://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=39777.0
