Title: WMS BlueBird RAM Question
Post by: Tacman on February 13, 2014, 10:30:49 PM
If I were to buy a BB game how would I know how much ram in the machine is required?
Do most games require 512 mb of RAM?   I saw on another post that some games need 512 when the board has 256

If you get 512MB of RAM, all games (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=11260.0#) will work.  If the game was originally written for 256MB, it just wont use the rest.  I've never had issues using any games on my 512MB NXT conversion.  If you do get a 256MB system, you can just replace the memory.  It uses PC133 DRAM SO-Dimm (Laptop Memory from WAAAAAYYYY back)

The above messages are for the 550 NXT conversion. The BB1 CPU's have a 1 gig memory and the BB2 CPU has a 2 gig memory and a hard drive.

Just a slight correction to the above information regarding BlueBird cpu's

A BB1 cpu is only upgradable to 512mb of ram, and a BB2 cpu starts at 1gb of ram and some games require 2gb of ram
