Title: Battery for S2000
Post by: Coloradonewbie on April 07, 2023, 07:37:48 AM
Would this 3.6 V battery work on the S 2000 or would it damage my board?

It will work but it's a little over the 3v required. If you are going to the trouble of soldering that in, why not just put in a holder for a CR2032 or 2330 so the battery can be easily swapped without soldering in the future?

Just be cautious, these boards do not have great solder pads!! excessive heat or prolonged heat could damage the through hole or lift the pad, then you will have more problems, just saying!

have seen many people replace the battery etc. and finally get installed only to see the main battery low display come on.

Are there stores that carry them or are they just found online. What about microcenter

If you are going to install a battery holder, I recommend a holder for CR2354. This battery is slightly larger and will last twice as long.

:agreepost: That's what I did with all of mine and they've been going for years without needing replacement.

Thanks for the help. I got a holder for $3 at microcenter.  Machine is up and working with other issues now.
