Avoid purchasing from "Mechanic Jeff"

In an effort to assist others avoid a headache, my suggestion would be to avoid purchasing anything from the member named "Mechanic Jeff".  He had posted Compact Flash Software for sale in the NLG Classifieds: http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=29663.0 [/size] I reached out to him about one card, agreed on a price, paid via PayPal and he had shipped the card in a plain white standard letter envelope.  The envelope arrived with the end slit and no card.  I reached out to him and advised that I received an empty envelope at which time he stated "An empty envelope? WTF Is it torn or opened in any way? the card was inside a plastic container and sealed in the envelope. Let me know ASAP, Ill refund your money." , then followed up and asked for pictures, which I provided.  I haven't heard from him since and he's been avoiding any follow ups.  To be quite honest, if you mail something as described (see bold type), mailing in a standard letter envelope is not going to work.  My advice, stay away, or deal with a headache and loss of funds!

As a part time vendor I often get some demanding requests and some upset customers.
One customer berated me for not shipping a metal hopper knife in a padded envelope and said the cost of a USPS small box cost more then the knife.
I learned the lesson long ago that a sharp metal knife can slit a padded envelope open.
Another customer overseas complained about customs and shipping costs, I have no control over customs and shipping costs overseas our POS system calculates those costs and prints the correct customs documents.

Well Dave, thats real cute. First of all, I'm not trying to avoid you, I've been checking NLG site for a reply, unaware that you replied via google mail. You see, unlike most people I am not controlled by email and rarely check it, that is of course unless I'm anticipating something, you know like when somebody tells me they are sending me email. Second, I did tell you I would refund your money, EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY TO DO SO. I can't control what happens in the US Mail and truthfully, I dont know you and had every right to ask for a picture. Also, I brought this issue to Joey's attention, seeking advice on what to do. After some thought we both agreed that I would go ahead and refund your money which I have. I'm probably one of the most honest persons anybody would ever know and you've tried to damage my reputation, for doing so you owe me an apology.
