Title: HARD DRIVE REPAIR
Post by: mrzee2000 on January 06, 2018, 02:00:59 PM
If someone has a Seagate Barracuda 4 hard drive that has lost it's life or having issues booting up sometimes, most likely the drives going bad. If the drive has stopped spinning, error code 411 or noisy. 99.9% of the time the lower unit drive has been damaged and is not repairable. I install a NEW drive unit on your old PC board.  Along with this repair I also give you a choice of software either a 15 game or 7 game install. The cost for this service to NLG members $175 plus shipping cost in the U.S. I also have spare Odyssey parts available. Please PM me if you need something.

Thanks
Mike

Hello mrzee2000,

I have a Silicon Gaming Odyssey that I got about a month ago.
It was working great and suddenly won't boot.
It goes to the Silicon Gaming Icon screen and then it just "braps" trying to boot.
I get the 411 Hard Drive failure code.
I am hoping you can help me somehow.

Thanks,
Scott

While it's just sitting at that boot logo have you tried turning the key with the door closed As well as the 3 or 4  board center behind the hopper if you take those out and put them back in line them up correctly that will help Depending on what board is in there you should also be able to ramble clear the machine I believe switch 4

Hello Podfun,

I did remove the SCSI board, cleaned the fingers, and re-seated it.
Also tried turning the key during boot and the DIP switch #4 for a clean reset.
Still has a 411 error and hard drive "blerps" every 8 seconds or so.

Thanks for your suggestions

If the game boots up to the juggler, you're only seeing the 411 code, and the drive "blerps" every 8 seconds or so, your hard drive has failed.  The "blerp" is the drive trying to spin up, which it not happening.  Contact mrzee2000 about getting your drive repaired.
