Title: Bally Alpha, Primary touchscreen device error
Post by: slotdoofus on April 04, 2017, 02:48:27 PM
I just started getting this error on one of my Bally Alphas:

Primary touchscreen device error.

What should I do?

Adding insult to injury....

I rebooted the machine, now the upper display is no longer centered. It' off to the right. I used the adjustment buttons. I adjusted as much as I could to move the screen to the left, but it's still not right.

Where's my sledge-hammer? :Scratch-Head:

Touchscreen device error.  Check the serial cable that goes all the way to the monitor. Sometimes the db9 jack at the monitor gets loose.  As for the non-centered screen.  Make sure the VGA cable is good. If you have one from a pc, or one from another cabinet that works I would try that.  There's also an "auto" button that centers the screen, but if one of the wires on the harness is intermittent, you will have all kinds of issues.  That's why I would try a known working signal cable first.

After familiarizing myself w/ the touchscreen adjustment panel buttons, I'm good to go again.
