Title: Temperamental bally alpha
Post by: Samm329 on January 17, 2019, 10:33:29 AM
Hey guys. I am working on getting my ultimate diamonds and 7s machine 100% I am able to choose different denominations thanks to help in a previous thread, but now my issue is with the top spinning bonus game. I can play the game yet randomly the top spinner will start spinning backwards like it’s trying to calibrate and then the game will say call attendant, afterwards, it will perform a memory check and stop, allow me to replay the game, and then start the process all over again, every couple of minutes.  Any insight on this issue? I’m kinda lost because it doesn’t give me and error code for it.

Thanks
Sam

You may have a faulty door switch that is causing the issue.  The only time the game performs a memory check typically is when the main door opens and closes.  I would jump the main door switch(es) and see if it happens again.

I was thinking it was a door switch as well at one point, but the game can be playing or could be sitting gold and out of nowhere just the top spinner starts spinning, then all the reels start spinning, reels stop and then it seems like the top spinner just keeps spinning and spinning until I turn off the cabinet power and turn it back on. Maybe time to just clear it to see if it’s software based?

Check your usb cables then, it might be losing connectivity, as all the reels are USB devices.  It's odd that you'd be getting memory checks though.  When it happens, does the lcd screen stay on?  Any error messages show up?

So when my machine boots up for the first time the top box spins counter clockwise with the reels, the reels eventually stop and so does the top. The machine says call attendant, then it goes away and the game can be played. After a few minutes of idling or a couple spins, whichever is shorter, the spinner up top starts spinning counterclockwise, the lcd freezes up briefly (the progressive change was stuck half way rolling) the reels start spinning, then after about 30 seconds the reels stop spinning the game unfreezes I can play the game but the motor keeps spinning counterclockwise until it decides to stop or I restart the machine.

I kid you not I took electronic parts cleaner, and pulled the top side usb sprayed parts cleaner in it, and it hasn’t done it since!

Thanks Rick!

Just kidding! After about an hour the machine started doing it again. The top spinner just starts going counter clockwise

I would try power supply then.

I am able to replicate the problem as soon as I unplug the top box usb. So I’ll replace cable tomorrow and go from there
