Schematics for mpu board as-2978-21
« on: May 09, 2021, 12:48:23 PM »
Hi there,
I am working on a bally big winner, model E-2407-2, a machine sold in Holland.
Only light are working, nothing else including display;combined I/O-mpu board, power board and hopperboard looking good with no burnings, also plugs seem to be ok.
Would be very much helped with schematics of this board
Thanks for your attention and help
Kind regards,
Peter

Great, thanks a lot, looking into similarities now with my boards.
At the moment I have failcode 50 .0.00 when door is closed; stays like this when opening door.
Due to dots it seems machine is stuck in test mode, reset will not help. Doorswitch seems to work ok.
Any thoughts are appreciated very much
Thanks again for your help

Sounds like classic RAM chip failure. Best to replace both chips, as they take heat and fail early.

Please find attached picture mpu board, only 4 sockets are present.
Left middle starting with u15 hm6116lp-4, u16 eprom, u18 scn 2650ac1n40, and u 19 with sticker 620-432.
I presume the ram is the 6116 ?

Re: Schematics for mpu board as-2978-21, tilt problem
« Reply #5 on: May 22, 2021, 11:53:46 PM »
I have replaced ram 6116 with new one, no effect. After reset code 50.000, coin accepted, handle lock free, after pulling reels one stops, then reel 2 and 3 stops together and tllt appears. Handle is deblocked and after pulling all reels stop directly and handle blocked. Tilt stays on. After reset same result.

Any ideas to go forward?
Thanks for help

Thanks for attention and help, but unfortunately the 50 code stays after coin insertion, so it looks like doorlock problem, but contacts are ok.
Still being puzzled :Scratch-Head:

The 50 stays with coin insertion.  Are you able to play off the coin inserted?

didn't you mention earlier that when you got the machine to play reel 2 and 3 stopped at same time?  don't see anyone responding to that (lubrication recommended).

After reset and closing door, light “ coin insert” is on, coin insert and light “coin accepted” is in, code 50 stays on display.
Pulling handle and reels turning, first reel stops and then reel 2 and 3 stop at same time; tilt light starts blinking, handle can be pulled again and reels block all three directly.

Lubrication: with reel unit out of machine, all reels turn freely where reel 2 is turning most long; for my feeling they all rotate very light. I will check again if lubrication will help.
Looks like the “brakes” which stop the reels are going of together for reel 2 and 3

Lubrication for reels is ok, they run smoothly
When opening door, the flatcable from mpu board to display was put under tension and one of the pins in the pinconnector towards the mpuboard was broken :hissyfit: . Trying to find new cable now which is fitting and a bit longer

You need to oil all the pivot points on the reels. You have small cross shafts that have the latch paws. These dry out and won
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Thanks for tips; in the meantime the display is not working anymore, even with new flatcable installed, so this is my first concern now. Any suggestion are welcome :Scratch-Head:

what flat cable (ribbon cable) did you use?  was the meter cable (meter to mpu) the one with the broken pin?  did you replace just to connector or ?

the flatcable, 16 cores, is between the display and the MPU board; second pin brook from connector to the board , next to red core.I have taken new piece of flatcable and connected it to the old cable coming from the display with male/female connector, so I did not need to solder new cable/connector on the display board.
then new connector towards board.
all cores are one by one correct in contact , measuring with ohm meter from display solder towards solder on connection board with red core on top left as it should be.display is not working, so i am in the proces to check if the new cable is shifted 1 core compared to connector on the board.

Checked again reel mechanism; when released all reels spin free and long, but:

reel one is completely independent when moving brake by hand and release by hand by pushing back through plunger coil. Reel 2 and 3 are not independent, f.i. if reel 3 is free and manually release brake reel 2 then brake reel 3 is pushed back. Looks like the latch pawl of 2 and 3 are not rotating free on their axe and rotate with influencing eachother, while reel one is not influenced.

Is this correct or should they move totally independent? Can correction made by lubrication ?

In the mean time I was able to free the reel 2 and 3 latch pawns, they were really stuck but now rotate very smoth on the large black axe.

Flatcable between display and mpu seems to correct now, compared with old situation, but display not working.
Also test and reset switch not working, so something wrong with powersupply; fuses are all ok, on test points values are not ok, all very low, connector getting warm at pin 1, wire code 15; looking into connector all contacts are shiny except pin 1, which is grey

Is it easy to change pin in this  powersupply  connector? (20 pins , rectangular,)
