Title: Help with a ceronix 1492 H
Post by: Bonanaking on February 23, 2016, 06:33:27 PM
My PE+ got left on for four days. When I found it it had black bars trough he screen and was a little twitchy. I shut it off and figured I would come back to it. This video shows what it is doing now.

Any ideas? I'm sure this is more than a cap kit.

I'm not a display guru but it looks like in the video your horizontal deflection is working ok and you can catch glimpses of the video poker game image which makes me think the video signal from the mpu board is probably ok, so I'd guess something is going on with the vertical deflection. If you can get the schematic for your monitor chassis you might be able to change some likely parts, but wait for other more experienced folks here to chime in.

Not something I would do, but on a good working machine you can leave them on continuously, that doesn't cause a problem, other than getting some screen phosphor burn-in of the display image. In the casinos they don't get turned off.

That unit looks like a power supply problem do you need a service manual on it? I have one and looks like maybe the input capacitors may have gone bad. Check the cap marked 317.
