Title: TOP STAR games question
Post by: coolwavepic on March 26, 2016, 10:26:51 AM
If I were to find a TOP STAR for Jewels of Australia, where does the TOP STAR connect to in a BB2? TSE?

If you have the actual Top Star it plugs into a Molex Micrto-fit connector on the expansion bus, left side behind the transmissive monitor.  No TSE board is involved.

It has interactive lighting on the star, does it need the emotive box?

On a standard BB2 upright, no emotive is involved. You may have seen it on an BB2xD or BB2e machine which has LED lighting driven by the emotive board. It's plug and play.  But it add about 3 ft to the height of a BB2 machine.

Yep, when I had mine I had to remove the candle and lower the stand, otherwise cut a hole in the ceiling to make it fit.

Just in case anyone else wants to add a top star, be careful of the top star you buy. I just noticed there are CREDIT versions of the star and the other (which is what I am looking for) has multipliers and free spins.

Correct, there are different versions of the Star insert that must be matched to the game.  Otherwise the Star is identical except for the insert.
