Title: How to wire ELO 2701 touchscreen controller board
Post by: eldee99 on February 21, 2017, 07:59:28 AM
Hi friends!

I am trying to hook up an ELO 2701 touchscreen board in my MVP cabinet (MK6 XP board).

I have no idea how to hook up this thing. As far as I know, the connections from the XP mainboard are:

- VCC +5V;
- RX
- TX

The board is powed by a power supply from the screen, so I only connect RX to TX and TX to RX.
(I assume the VCC +5V is therefore not needed, as the board is receiving power from the screen).

Should I make a local loopback on the ELO board? So i mean shorting DTR-CD-DSR and RTS-CTS?

I hope someone can help me, because I can't seem to get this screen working.

Hi,

I managed to figure it out myself.

The pinout on the connector on the back of the 'monitor slide' is:

as seen from PCB:

7 = RX
8 = GND
9 = TX

It uses a serial RS232 connection.

I wired it up to the ELS 2701i board. On a molex connector using pin 13, 15 and 19.

This works good!
