Title: Specs on IGT Stepper motor
Post by: MikeWritesCode on May 24, 2017, 02:16:53 PM
Hi - I'm trying to use an Arduino or similar to control the reels on an old IGT machine for a custom home unit. I see the following make and part number Astrosyn 23KM-K214-07W on the motor.

Now, I've Googled high and low, found similar motors from Astrosyn / Minebea, but not the full specs for this motor. I need the specs to know what hardware to buy to control it.

Here's what I do know from http://www.eminebea.com/en/engineering_info/rotary/steppingmotor/hybridmotor/cat/001.shtml (http://www.eminebea.com/en/engineering_info/rotary/steppingmotor/hybridmotor/cat/001.shtml) :

Astrosyn 23KM-K214-07W

23 Motor OD
K = laminated stack stepper motor 56 & 85
M = 1.8 degree angle
-
K = 2 phase hybrid
2 = 42mm length of motor
14 = electrical config??
-
07W = Standard Drive Sequence?

If anyone can tell me the rest of the specs (electical specs, specifically), that'd be great.

If anyone can tell me what parts I need to buy from Arduino/Adafruit to actually interface it (I'd prefer USB plug in), that'd be REALLY great. As my name suggests, I am thrilled to take on the challenge of writing the code to do the controlling, I just need to know what hardware I have and need!

Thanks!
Mike
