Title: Bally Slant Top info
Post by: dillman on June 03, 2017, 11:57:50 AM
Hello everyone.

I'm looking for any and all information I can find on this old Bally Slant Top.
Not sure of its status as of yet, currently in storage, but I'll keep y'all posted.

Peace,
Lynny

That's probably a machine that came out of the old Las Vegas Hilton (now Westgate) when it had the Star Trek Experience exhibit and theme. A lot of their machines had "Trekkie" additions.

Here's a machine (below) from that place, notice it has the same "light activated" spin mod hardware on the front right side of the machine. Blocking the light activates the spin reels switch, same as pulling a spin handle would.

That Star Trek theme may have seemed hokey after a while but I liked it a lot better than what happened to the place afterwards. Besides, with their location near the convention center they get a lot of the older crowd and Star Trek is still something that was part of their lifetime. I hate a lot of the changes that have happened over the years - Vegas was great in the 1980's and 90's, maybe even earlier but I wasn't going there then so don't know.  :waving_flag:

Ha,

Great pic, and trivia.  Yeah, it even has the UFO looking topper like mine has.  I'm pretty sure my Williams Party Jackpot came from the Monte Carlo casino, so you're probably right. I got them both from the same guy.  :-)

Peace,
Lynny
