Title: Barcrest Top Dollar SG Chip Question
Post by: mvco on June 26, 2017, 01:04:05 PM
Hello,

I recently picked up a real nice 3 reel 2 coin Top Dollar.  Only issue, it gets reel tilts frequently upon power up.  It is running on a 1270 Enhanced Board.  On all my other Enhanced boards, I always us SG 589 chips as they seem to never throw reel tilts upon power up.

This game currently has SG 378 chips.  I am tempted to replace with SG 589's   However, with this bein a Barcreat, I do not want to screw anything up.  Anyone know if 589's work well with Top Dollar?

Thanks in advance.

Bill,
Reel tilts at boot up on enhanced boards are common when 300 series SG chips are used. I don't think 589s exist. I believe you meant 598s. Those are great generic SG chips but not meant for Barcrest games. SG000577s are perfect for Top Dollar with enhanced MPU. The PSR is available in the files section. Let me know if I can help.

Ron, you are so right, I transposed the numbers, I meant the 598's.  I suspected they may not be compatible with the Barcrest, so glad I dropped the question before trying to install those.

Anyone have a set of 577's for sale?

Thanks much!  :-)
