I found a better solution instead replacing these boards (or individual 5mm LEDs).

I will be using a single RGB LED module in place of each one. (4 per machine)  Many colors with brightness control and different lighting effects.  Colors can be changed on the fly with a button or even a remote.   These can be made to work with the existing harness and forward voltage.

I will start a new thread with pics when finished with the project.

Yeah, but will the leds still be game controlled, or are we throwing that right out the window?

The lights on  my Alpha Elite v32s are always on and not controlled by the game.

My bad, Yeah that will look cool. I thought you were talking about your alpha 2. That is what I get for skimming.

Just wanted to post a quick update.  The LED modules that I wanted to use were on back order so I just ended up making a few extra molex plugs for quick color changes.  Still got to make one for purple.

Also replace a couple of burned out and dim LEDs with new ones. Nice and bright now!  Less than $8 in parts with shipping if you already have the Molex crimp tool.

Wow!  That is awesome!  You have any pics of the inside?  What are you using for a diffuser?  It is built into the strips?

You basically plug the strip into the MPU usb for power then it runs up the left side across the top and down the right.

That's really cool.  I wonder if there is a way to tie them into the game like the new cabinets do.
I just gutted a V32 cabinet so I know the work involved to get those black side pieces off.

I removed the Formica and having it blasted back to bare metal.  Then power coated with textured black again.
