Title: Bally M9000 Touch Screen Issue
Post by: Ericbl on December 02, 2019, 03:52:35 PM
I have issues with my touch screen and lack of response when the frame door is closed. The screen works correctly when locked into the cabinet or swung away from. It’s when contact between the screen and frame is made it becomes non responsive, it occurs at about 85% of closure (we pic). I cannot tell if it’s a grounding issue, or pressure being exerted against the screen. The door frame appears to be true.

Thank you

Eric

Do you get an error, or just no touchscreen response?  Try doing a touchscreen test and see if you see dots moving about even if they are not where they are supposed to be.  I have had issues with many V32 screens that will not work in the vertical position, but will in a horizontal position, a new touchscreen controller seems to fix it.  I don't have an M9000, but I assume the monitor is mounted to the door, so i don't see where it would be applying additional pressure?

Rick, thank you for your response. No error just no response. I did run the screen test, with the cabinet open the dots following my finger are inline, when the door makes contact and I do the test and the dots are off substantially, is it possible that the screen is reacting but when I touch at the bottom left of the screen, it reacts at a location that doesn’t match the game?
