Title: This is a new one for me
Post by: LINDAM on August 27, 2014, 05:13:30 PM
I guessing the Drive is corrupt, but thought I'd get some feedback. I had a power issue (Power Co. blinked). The boot up is very slow and after sitting at the "Welcome" "One moment Please" screen I get the error pictured below. Any Thoughts ??? Sorry for the flash spot. but you can the important stuff.

I have seen this with drive issues And the small -fine wiring runing to them-Bunch of black little wires from memory. I sold all mine in perfect working order after playing with about 15 of them and hair-less back in the day. - :EmoticonHelp4: . They are fun great games though, Just better to make sure a few spare parts are on hand.

Lin, have you considered maybe swapping the ram and setting the top box up again with a keyboard. I forget what key sequence you use to do that during startup but I'm sure you remember, you've done it several times before, maybe even several times this month, lol

I still have 6 or 7 around but only two at home in use, The Duck and Flip Flop. My wife love to play the Duck so I'm gona have to swap it over to Bios 2 as I didn't make a backup of the Bios 1 BGM file. That's what I get for being lazy.

I did that tonight, and even replaced the Batt as it was a wee bit whimpy. Thanks

Rich,

I have both Bios 1 & 2. My only concern is when I change from 1 to 2 and use my Bios 2 Hard Drive That the SB & SG chips on the MPU will not be a good match with the drive files. This has been an issue with other games. The game will play fine until you hit the bonus game, Then it freezes.

What chip set are you using?  I have top boxes with bios 1 and bios 2.
Both top boxes will play my duck using the same chip set.

SB523 and SG536 work with either bios and will also work with both 504 and 1270 boards.
If you need them or want to review  my bios 1 HD I would be happy to send it to you. Just pay the shipping back to me

I have the files for the SG Chips but not the Sb523. I have SB562 & SG301 in it now. Lin

Can't see the full message on screen from your picture. I had a hd that was doing something similar and I still can't believe I got it to come back to life.

You will need a cd of XP operating system (I used professional but any should work).
Put the cd in the top box and change the boot bios to "first boot device from cd".
When the cd loads it will ask what you would like to do. Then type R or repair. (not from recovery disk) xp will load all drivers etc. and finally come to a :c prompt.
Type chkdsk and enter. It took about 10 min with nothing on the screen, it then said check disk is complete and found one or more errors.
Type exit then enter.
The system will start to reboot. go back into the bios and change initial boot back to floppy and save. Remove xp cd and reboot.

I was shocked when the reel touch blue screen came up and everything worked normally.
