These are nice, in a fancy cab. Etc.  These are AVP based games so all get up on your homework . I knew about this for a while.  still, nothing the average home user can up keep,   Even some/most out now and past there are problems up keeping on the games and they are pricey.  These will not be the equiv. to a s-2k in the home user aspect, Both money wise and knowlegege wise for so time to come.   Yes, That is what was said about s-2k when it came out, I rembember the discussions.   Thing is AVP games have Been out!.  Not many on home user market has them?  I know why and it is about three diff. answers.   Avp is just a term such as Alpha-Many diff. platforms.  Prob. better off hacking away at those wms bb's for now I would say-Most like those and have good luck with them.

During my last Vegas outing, I played a few AVP Game Kings.  While the software, graphics, and glitz are cool, to me, they feel flimsy and plasticy.  The S2000 and 3902/044 machines are just solid pieces of equipment.  Maybe it's because I own them, but they just feel a lot more solid than the new machines.

Wasn't there a discussion where the slot manufacturers were only leasing machines to the casino's and the machines would no longer be sold to dealers after there useful life in a casino and then going to be shredded when returned to the manufacturer? Maybe there will only be a few that make it !

Casinos have the option to buy or lease.  They caanot buy a propritary game-ie: wof, monopoly, wizard of oz, etc.  At that point if casino owns them they can offer to brokers for sale in a lot/machine deal.  From there they are transferred to dealers/vendors/overseas etc.  Leased goes back to the manufacturer and either refurbrished OR some smashed,  Many of them go to a private business where certain parts are allowed to be removed then destroyed, By the book. The normal life on the floor is about 4 years on average some last longer, some less.

I have heard something about IGT offering a fair trade-in price (approx $1,000) for machines. Wether or not this comes with "strings attached" (like "IF you buy a NEw machine from us"), I don't know. I would think some casinos would naturally opt for getting a set price for machines, when the time comes to trade up, versus be at the mercy of the highest bidder when put up for bid to dealers/distributors.

Jason,  There is Nothing flimsy about these.  They are built well, Like driving a Cadillac. They are just as heavy etc. When you know these they blow a s-2k in dirt as far as user-friendly goes--Bye Bye chips etc. as far as axcess and game change etc. same as alpha 1/2 and bb-2. I have a few so to speak from hands on. (not s-3k) but the same.

Wait till they are all just periferal devices and won't even boot without a back end system. The aftermarket will dry up overnight and all the S2000 , BlueBirds and Alphas will be looking pretty good again
