Title: BOARD NEEDED FOR DBV-200 NOT WORKING
Post by: mikejmcfall on May 17, 2015, 04:42:55 PM
I got a double double diamond from a friend. He Bought a DBV-200  and was going to install it but never did. I bought the machine and bill acceptor from him. I never installed the dbv but I did get the game up and running with quarters. I decided today to attempt the dbv install. I hooked up all the wires and took out the game chip and set the machine to 9-1. Put the game chip back in, got the 61 pressed the white button once and the wheels spinned and it seemed to go into reset. closed the door and no lights on the bill acceptor and all I hear is a constant clicking sound and the game will not accept quarters. and the red candle lite is on. Any suggestions.

Usually that clicking occurs when the transport and cash can are not engaging properly. Could either be caused by the transport not seated correctly, or missing teeth on the gears of either the transport or the cash can. Is the red lever at the front of the DBV all the way up? Do all 4 gears have any missing teeth (check the 2 on the bottom back of transport and the 2 on the top of the cash can)?

yes its in all the way and the red lever is to the top. The dbv is not making any noises, such as attempting to start up. I removed the dbv and I still hear a clicking of a solenoid from inside the machine. I plugged in all the wire plugs but don't know if its getting power

For a quick test to see if the validator is working, remove from the transport, but leave it plugged in. Then turn the unit upside down and look for two banks of dip switches. On the second bank (DS-2) their are 6 switches. Turn on number 6 (up) all the rest of the switches should be off (down). Reset power to the validator and then turn number 6 off. The unit should cycle and accept bills. If not, then there is a problem with the head.
You can still get the manual for the DBV-200 on the JCM web site http://am-en.jcmglobal.com/files/product-manuals/ (http://am-en.jcmglobal.com/files/product-manuals/)
They can be hard to troubleshoot with the stacker if you don't have the test unit, (VM-401) but not impossible. Ill see if i can dig up a schematic I have for an LED test plug for doing the tests and post it to the forum.

I think I found the problem. A board is cracked at the corner. Will it be inexpensive to replace just the board or should I get a new DBV

Unfortunately JCM no longer supports the DBV-200 platform. You might be able to find the board from one of the dealers on this site.
otherwise it looks like another unit.

Look at the broken tracers and use jumper wires , If you cant find or afford a replacement ..
