CC-46
« on: November 07, 2022, 08:20:14 AM »
This old dog is teaching himself how to fix a couple slot machines. I have 2 CDS US-0320 slots. Both have this cc-46 comparitor in them.  No comparitor led lights up on either machine. both machine will play with a bill acceptor and $1 bills.

Any help is appreciated.

Post a photo of the CC for each unit. Is there a sample coin in them?

Yes, they have coins in them. I assume the led should light up?

I don't believe the LED stays  on when the door is open. Are you putting in quarters or tokens? I see it's set up for token use.
Did either of these work before?

I have tried both quaters and tokens, I just acquired the machines and neither was full operational when I received them, thwe both work with a bill validator but not with coin comaparitor.

Just to rule everything out, put a quarter in each one and try just quarters.

Yes, But I will add the one machne had the cc power wires hacked up, twisted together and soldered directly to the pins on the CC. I elimnated that and got a connector on it.

Doing the direct output test for the CC neither of them light up the led whe the bet one button is pressed as explained in the attached photo.

Does any one know the pinouts of the CC-46?

UPDATE: I got one of the CC to work in one machine...the problem with that machne was the large door connector had some pins that needed to be "adjusted" to make more friction and better contact.

The 2nd coin comparitor throws a R47 reverse coin error no matter what reference coin I put in it.

from the manual...
"The coin comparitor error signal is active. This is caused by
passing a coin in the wrong direction, passing the coin too
slowly through the comparitor, passing the coin through the
accept side of the comparitor when the comparitor is trying
to reject the coin or there is no reference coin in the
comparitor."

I believe you have two different comparators.  One has two green wires, and one has two gray wires. Normally that would signify different voltages.  Like 12v and 24v.

If that is the case then someone swapped covers, becasue both of these slot machines are CDA US-0320 and both coin comparitors have the same part number on them.

If you look back at your first set of photos posted photo #1 shows a "24vac" and your second one shows "12vdc".

That might explain the burned up resistor on the little board at the bottom, The working unit has a 270ohm resitor on it...I'm going to put the same in place of the burned up one as soon as get one.

Looks like the manual shows the comparitor to be a MC-40 24vac

My research has shown in 2003 the cc-46 became the mc-40 based on schematic notes. https://www.coinmech.com/product_profile.cfm?id=44
