Bally Knock Out , when hit start button game try to reset .all digits reset but 1st digit on score reel and the machine just keep trying to reset..I can turn the score digit to 0 by hand and reset will complete ,and I am able to play until game over and then have to reset by hand again. cleaned score reel relays and game over relay with no luck...

Your zero position reel switch is not adjusted correctly. Simply compare the switch stack to the other reels and you will see which switch blade is not correct. Advance the reel to any position 1-9 then back to zero while looking at the stacks.

The 3 sets of contacts on top of the reel must be open at zero. At first advance the top two sets close, the bottom most set only closes momentarily at 9 so as to transfer power to the next column.Check for broken wires under the insulator boots and cold solder connections as there is a lot of vibration with these units. Also check all the wires on the relay that pulses in and out to reset all the score reels. Good luck, The wizard
