Konami Hot Dawgs video slot machine
« on: October 11, 2020, 08:19:01 AM »
I am new to slot machines and have been working with IGT S-plus machines for the past few months.   Today I picked up a Hot Dawgs video slot machine and the seller had said it had a ram error and provided a picture.   When I got it home I am now getting a low battery warning and EL key removed error.  Where is the EL key located so I can look into it?  Sorry for the very basic question.....this machine type is new to me.

Looks like the EL key is missing and 3 batteries are not installed.

So I put 3 new batteries in and the low battery warnings are gone.  Anyone know where to get an EL key?  Do I need to match the # shown on the chips installed on the main board? (KGI00015-003-1).....I found one online that is KGI00015-003-3.....are these compatible?

The person who sold the machine to me had taken the EL key out and forgot about it.   He gave it to me but when I tried it I now get a 930 error.   It says EL Key FAILED.  I assume that the EL key is too old and the battery has died.  Any other ideas?

So after researching this past weekend, the EL keys are very hard to come by (if there are even any in existence anymore....since they only last about 10 years....)  Does anybody know where to get one or another method around using an EL key?

Otherwise, I guess I will be looking to sell the machine as is or part it out.....

You will be lucky to locate an EL key.  They are indeed very hard to find.  There is not alot of information on these forums regarding Konami gaming in general.  I have Konami K2V.  Which is the new style machine that does no require an EL key.  They are much easier than what you are dealing with.  Happy hunting!
