Post by: BKOCH on July 28, 2019, 11:32:32 AM

If you just changed the battery all you should have to do is turn the jackpot key a few times.
Probably don't need clear just key if you already tried one.
If it's a 1270 board  clear 224, key 45 will also work for
500 series.
500 series also can use clear 97

I keep getting a ram error code :banghead: , its been a long time since I worked on these machines, what is the clear chip procedure? thanks again.

A bit of todays history.

1 replaced the old style board and motherboard with the replaceable battery type 1270. The first one I tried, out my box of parts, kept saying netplex link down. swapped boards with another and the new error code is Ram error.

What is the process to clear and key chip a new setup. I can't seem to find my book of notes I had for these machines since my move.

I'm starting to feel old.

I seem to have developed CRS "Can't remember S--t"

Just remember after you put the game chip back in you must wait until the top box boots before the reels will spin and you can continue with set up.

Ok its all starting to come back.

New issue is its asking for E2 ram clear to change denomination. What is the E2 ram clear? I thought the clear and key chip performs this task.

The 224 is the clear. You must set the denomination after the clear. If you did not do that after the clear that is why you are getting this message.

I know this is a stupid question but is this the process I should use

1 install clear
2 install key
3 install game
4 wait for top screen
5 change denom
6 change other info

thank you so much

With a reel Touch you probably want to install the clear
Then install the game chip let the top box boot then set the denomination and machine type then save. Then do the key process the same way. You can't do the clear and key at the same time on Reel Touch.

I have tried both ways. just a clear, then boot, then trying to change denomination, then key chip. also tried clearing and key chip. both do not allow me to change the denomination, also this machine has multi denomination touch screen and I cant remember how to access this setup.

The machine is working with the single denomination set up

Should I try a different clear and key chip? I have key 17 22 31 45 I also have clear 97 and 224

Any suggestions?

224 and 45 are the latest.
Key the machine then in order to set the denomination you must enable the game select 7.1.2 you must set that first then you will be able to set the denomination.
Don't forget to enable the buttons also.

Ok, making more headway, this time the denomination is cleared, however in the key chip setup under game select there is only one choice for the game. under 7 segment there is only 2 options 5.5.2 and 6.6.3.

Under what key chip setting do I find the 7.1.2

Thanks again for this help.

As I said its been a wile since I did this, I see 7,1,2 is the game select. however there is only one game option showing. I seem to remember I had to go somewhere else to enable more than one game. then go back to choose the percentages for each game. is this correct? and if so where do go to enable more than one game?
Title: Re: Need help with clear chip
Post by: qbert on July 29, 2019, 03:32:04 PM
After you key the game you should be able to navigate to 7.1.2 then change the disabled slots to game selects  with the percentage you want. Use the service button to move cursor and cash out to select game. Hit max bet to save.
The 7.1.2 is the somewhere else you are thinking of.
Then you go back to 7.1.1.3 and 4 to pick player denomination and touch panel button designations.

Is it posable the version chip is incorrect, with version chip I have(vs011gx0) there is only one game. there are no other games to enable.

I have another reel touch same board 1270 with a different version chip in it (vs011nx5) this one allows for multi game.

The confusing part is this machine was working prior to the battery going dead and it was set up for multi game. the only change I made was changing the mother and game board to a 1270.

again thanks

No, the version chip on Reel Touch does not control multi play option like other S2000. The chipsets on Reel Touch are very specific and can not be changed.
What happened when you did the key process? On the 7.1.2 couldn't you tab to the disabled lines with the service button and enable them with the cash out? Don't forget to save with the max bet button.

What SG chips are you using? Certain ones do support a multi denom version chip.

RB same answer as version chip. The SGs that are used are specific to the game on Reel Touch and to my knowledge all support multi denom.
He is missing a step when he is keying the machine I am sure.

ok just cleared and keyed again here is the buttons I pressed and option for available for change,

key (7) key1(7.1)game select(7.1.2) options to change  game #1 LS01690  %98
                                                                                        game #2 LS01689  %97
                                                                                        game #3 LS01688  %96

and so on till it hits                                                          game #10 LS1681 %84

the only I option I have is to pick the pay out for one game. I can choose 1 of ten payouts and save(exit)

any ideas why this is happening?

On that screen are there three other lines under that that say disabled?
If there are three additional lines press the service button a cursor will show for each line. Hit the service button again the cursor will move down again. To change the line from disabled to a payout % press the cash out button to scroll through.
You do not have to clear just key.

Is it posable an I/O card is gone bad and the netplex is not seeing the muti denomination pad?

Title: Re: Need help with clear chip
Post by: qbert on July 30, 2019, 10:50:40 AM
That is a single denomination screen.
You mentioned something about choosing the control panel 5-5-2 or 6-6-3. This should have auto selected to 6-6-3. Possibly try to auto find Netplex devices again.
How about a few pictures of 7.1.1.3 and 4 screens.
Pictures help a lot.

It doesn't appear to be seeing the touch panel.
Is it set to 6-6-3 display?
You went from a 500 series board to a 1270 is that correct?
Note I will probably move this thread to the Reel Touch topic as this is a Reel Touch issue not a S2000 issue and I don't want folks to get confused.
Also as much as I don't believe this is the issue please list the SB, SG and VS chips you are using.  Also I hope you also added a DSP chip when you went to the 1270.

Ok sorry for posting it in the wrong spot, SB 000523, SG 000536, VS 009GX0, DSPL0002
And yes I changed boards. The first one I tried did not work at all the second 1270 worked but It seems to only have a single denomination, When fully programed the game works and plays fine.

This is what I was thinking last night, i just could not find the computer files that gave me the right version chip for this machine. What's surprising is this version chip is what I used on the old board with no trouble for years. Anyway I have two chips already burned. VS011GX1 and one that says (internal use only). i'll give these chips a try and let you know my progress.

Well, no such luck today, Now when I go to game select it won't let me in at all and the denomination reads accounting. any suggestions?
Title: Re: Need help with clear chip
Post by: qbert on July 30, 2019, 02:41:38 PM
When it goes to accounting set the value to .01 and save. You may have to set the machine type also. If you can't set the accounting you will have to clear the machine.
Reboot and let it come up.
Should work single denomination.
Then key the machine and set the 4 game selects to the denomination and % pay back you want. Save then set 7.1.1.3 and 4 and you should be good to go.

Found the problem, bad door I/O card.

After many attempts at clearing, keying and setting up the machine with different VS chips I found the original VS chip was the only one that would allow the game to boot.

I went into the input test screen and found the machine was seeing 2 inputs at the same time from the touch screen, my assumption was that the Netplex saw this and reverted to single game mode, replaced the I/O in the door and BOOOM multi game play again.

One almost done 9 to go!!!!

Speaking of "almost done". How can i update the bill validator to read modern currency? is it posable to flash the BV with new software?

Thank you so much for helping get this going

Which BV to you have?  JCM come flash or eprom versions, MEI is all flash I think.  Look on bottom of transport on WBA's to see if there is a removable prom.

Its a WBA 12 SS it does not have a removable eprom.

A new problem the machine cashes out after 1000 credits and It's gone back to single denomination. I tried a clear and key and its right back where I started.

Credit for this one goes to RB regarding the VS chip. I’m still having trouble with the machine even working with a 009 VS in the first place.
I’m going to mark this one solved. Please post in the wtb regarding the flash upgrade to your BV. RB may even to do that for you also.
