Title: Denver Duck Reel Tilt 4 error
Post by: Terps on August 01, 2021, 07:34:12 PM
Hi,
Denver Duck  reel touch machine occasionally had a reel 4 tilt error that was corrected by turning the reset key to the right with the door open and when it was closed it loaded fine. It began happening more frequently and now has the reel 4 tilt error whenever you turn the machine on and when you try to turn the reset key to the right one time and shut the door it does not correct the problem anymore. I think this is an issue with the MPU board, but wanted to get some expert thoughts before I spend the money on a new board. Thanks for any help or advice.

Thanks
Fusco

I haven't worked on a reel touch. On the S+ plus boards - re-soldering the pins on the MPU board has helped fix that error.

Try J1 pins 29 A&B 30 A&B for reel 4 and see if maybe that helps.

Only thing I can think of is maybe the detector pair for on the reel could be bad now? Might be able to do some measurements in the machine? See if there is any activity on the detector?

Good luck.

I'm sure others will know more.

Tony

Have you tried changing the reel positions and seeing if the problem follows the reel or the position.

Sorry for the delay, I did switch the reels and the problem still remained reel 4 tilt error. So the error did not follow the reel. What would you recommend next? Thanks for the assistance!

Check the plugs and the wires going to reel 4.
Try reseating the reel plug going to the backplane board. If all is good probably cpu or backplane.
Check the pins on the CPU board make sure none are bent.
