Title: MEI Cashbox hinge pin removal
Post by: Stayouttadabunker on February 25, 2023, 09:45:53 PM
I have a few bench test machines that can use MEI bill validators and their respective grey plastic cashboxes.
Often, I find myself testing with a one dollar bill to see if the BV or printer is working or not.
Sometimes I play with a twenty or tickets over and over and have to pull the ticket or bill outta the cashbox.
With the BV on the bench and not in a cabinet, the BV housing and head is just sitting there on top of the cashbox.
I have to pull out the cashbox and lay down the BV housing with the head in order to pull out the bills or tickets from the cashbox.

What I want to do is remove the cashbox door so I can just pull out the ticket or bills with one hand from the exposed bottom.
I'd like to mount the BV housing to the wall next to the button deck.
Looking at an MEI plastic cashbox door hinge, does anyone know how that hinge pin comes out? :Scratch-Head:
I'm sure someone has removed one before?
I don't want to ruin it in case I need it in the future.

Here's a picture or two of the hinge pin.
