My PE "Drop-In Bar" Slot Machine WBA 11 finally died on me.
- I identified the transport as a WBA-11 One Meg EPROM, with a 12-pin external connector on the transport.
- I purchased a WBA-13 Four meg EPROM, with a 20-pin external connector on the transport.
I think I need a new power supply and wiring harness for the transport to communicate with the motherboard.
Does anyone have one for sale?
-
Your WBA 11 power supply should also work for the 11. The harness on the back of the WBA frame has to be changed to match the 12/13 transport connector. That should do it for the hardware. Do you have the ID 022/023 firmware? V3.75-03i will work with all bills except the 3rd gen $100.

Thanks for the input RB, maybe a few pics will help with the guidance.
- The first pic shows the harness is one continuous harness from the transport connector to the motherboard.
- The second pic is the new WBA 13 connector
Can I splice the old harness into the new one?
-
I see what you men. That's a hack job. Your machine must have not came with a BV when manufactured. Wow, yes you can splice the 12/13 connector in. Those pictures tell a lot. How about one more of the inside of the cabinet.

I got in late, kids are in the basketball payoffs. I get the pictures uploaded tomorrow.

These are the standard connectors on a WBA power supply. Nothing should have to be spliced but it looks like someone made the harness inside your machine for power and communication. This same PS works for all WBA 10, 11, 12, 13. I am not familiar with bar tops but I can't imagine that is factory at all.

Yes, the PE has been modified for coinless operation. I would really like to upgrade the WBA to something newer if possible.

I was able to locate a wiring harness for an IGT S+ machine. Is the harness the same or different for a PE?
I installed the wiring harness, power supply, and a working WBA. The coin denomination is set for .25, and the WBA is enabled. I verified all the WBA switches are in the "Off" position and the PE is still not accepting $1,$5,$10, or, $20 dollar bills.
Does anyone have any input?

I believe the harness is the same.
Did you run a set chip ? the validator needs to be activated by running a set chip - You remove the Program Chip, pop in the SET chip, follow the onscreen instructions to set denomination, and then replace the program chip.
Is the Bezel illuminated ? if you didn't run the set chip my bet is no.
-
I didn't think I needed to use a SET Chip since the bill validator was enabled and the denomination was set to .25 cents; I'll give it a try and let you know the results.
-
If the validator is set to enabled and the denomination is set, you don't have to enable it again -- it's already enabled.
Is the validator attempting to accept bills (ie. does it take them in but then reject them back), or is it not even trying to take the bills?
-
I believe your switch settings are wrong, I have noted in my JCM quick guide that for a PEplus WBA, switch 1 has to be on.
Hope this helps.
Are you sure the WBA has the right protocal installed 022/023?
you can do the WBA stand alone test to verify the unit is working.

Thanks for confirming the above.

I'll give this a shot and post my results.
