I need some help before pulling the rest of my hair out!
I am trying to install a GT430 video card i just got from GETT. It is for an Aristocrat machine with the correct flash. I may just not be doing something correct but i will lay out what i have done and the error that it shows.
Here are the machine specs.
19" standard Viridian with the NTX red board installed. Assm# 07-41591_03
It had the splitter "video" card in it prior and was working fine.
Bios# 2.02.2
FCFG# 2.3
can't remember if it has 2gb or 4 gb in the machine.
Wonder 4 game installed 1.04.61520
MBR&BL 4.3
OS 3.05.5
USA platform 4.01.0-1.03.0
Set chip 7.02.03

I think you may have got the monitor cables backwards.Cable for the top monitor on the dvi main connection and vice versa
The booting screen you are showing should be on the bottom monitor.
If the cables are correct then maybe the cable is bad or the bottom monitor isnt working that would make the booting show up on the top screen also.Could also be a bad main monitor output on the video card.
That is the correct bios if that is what is flashed on the card.

The cables were correct. I thought it was odd that it went to the top screen. I did try it with the top cable removed and it did show up on the lower so it all seems good as far as cables and outputs. Hooked up the top monitor again and rebooted. Same result. Top screen with the boot info and the error about a one monitor EGM on a dual screen game.

2.02.2 BIOS does not support a GT430 video card. You need a GT630 video card with that. Plus I think that assembly is for a Verve. That games is on a blue label I bet and the assembly won't support that game with a 2.02.2 BIOS.

I keep learning. The game works with the non video card that is just basically a splitter. I was wanting to put in an actual video card so I can play some newer games.

Thats weird...I can run GT430 or 9500GT in all my red boards with 2.02.2 bios with no problems.

I got one of those funky GT430 board with the heat sink instead of a fan.Ill install it in a couple of hours and see if I get the same problem.

What is the process to install a new card in one of these.
Do I need to just put in the card and fire it up or do I need to do something else. Like set chip it or clear it

If you change the card have to use a set chip to clear and set the game up again.

Making progress. Even though the cable was fine on the original set up i changed it out and it booted up. Thank you Laneman for the suggestion on the cable.

You saying you have the game working with the 430 card on that CPU with 2.02.2 bios?

Its that red carrier board with the 2.02.2 bios.Works with a GT430 or a 9500GT.Its a Dragon Cash.
The only time I couldnt use either of those video board on any of my red carrier boards was on a newer Dragon Cash game (Genghis Khan).It would play but very slow.

I was unable to play any 3.0X base games on mine with a 2.02.2 bios with either a 430 or a 630. That's why I ask if he got Wonder 4 to play, but his base is 4.01 so it may play. For me the board I had came with a 630 so that may be the reason I was unable to use a 430 on it. The 430 was flashed ATI since it came on a different board with 2.02.1 bios. Also, the U2 boot chip on these boards may have something to do with it. ATI sure has made it difficult with all these combinations.

I can play this version of Wonder 4 with a red carrier bios 2.02.2 in either a narrow or wide machine.
Games with Linux OS 4.00.C wont run in a narrow machine with a WS carrier board.Will give you a missing top monitor error.

On your wonder 4 game you showed above, do you have the issue of not being able to drag a new game from the center to one of the playing areas?
Mine can do them if you drag them a short distance but if say you want to pull the Buffalo game to the lower half of the screen it doesn't work well.
Kinda like if you lift your finger off the screen.
Wondering if there is a known problem

Trying a newer game in this same machine. It's coming up with the same error i was getting before with it thinking it only has one monitor for a two monitor screen before rebooting.
This game is Inca Fortune JRP 1.01.32043
MBR&BLCF: 5.0
OS: X.42.1
World base: 5.05.2-1.00.0
Set Chip x55.3 7.02.58.01
Thoughts on this combo?

PAR says it's a WS game. Also, suggest you find a GT630 for that board. There are 2 different types so if you do, get one that is for the Gen7, not the Gen8

If you have a extra pc monitor (around a 22” you could connect it to the main cable and see if it boots up.
I’m going to load wonder 4 in a narrow machine with the same video card you have to see if I get the same problem.I have the same program number as yours.

I tried my same Wonder 4 program number as yours,same board with the same U2 and U3 chips and same video card.
Had no problems moving the games around as shown in my video.

I did have a monitor one time where Aristocrat programs had troubles seeing...changed the A/D board and it was fine then.

So installing Inca Fortunes 1.01-62043 with world base 5.05.2 OS x.42.1 MBR&BL 5.0 Would not load correctly with using a GT430 card and the stock 19" top monitor. With Rich's suggestion of using a different monitor i did that by hooking up a 32" computer monitor for the top monitor.
And it loaded fine and is working.
I'm guessing that the resolution on the 19" monitor wasn't available and it was reporting back to the CPU that the monitor was not there.
Here is a picture of it working although not to ergonomic HAHA

That program was probably looking for a certain resolution like you said.
Ive done exactly like you did with the pc monitor.I just set it on top by the candle.I had to do that until I bought some widescreen machines.

Anybody ever shoehorned in a WS monitor in one of these cabinets?

I did take out the top monitor and put a 19" widescreen pc monitor in that spot eventually.It worked fine.

Only one problem running this monitor.You will need to use a GT630 video card because the two inputs for this monitor vga and display port,no dvi.
The GT630 has a display port output.

Per my earlier post I said the PAR for that game indicates it's WS, I think if you use a 630 video card it will fool it into displaying on a 19"

OK thank you. I found a monitor cheap so i may try it that way. I'll let you know how that goes.
