Hello,
After replacing the 3 batteries 9 (2 0n Mpu and 1 on the back plane), i still have the message NVRAM mount failure battery low.
Here is the trouble shooting i did :
Battery installed correctly,
Voltage OK on each battery,
Battery mount are OK as i check if voltage was present on US4 and U8 on the main board.
Ram clear made like 10 times ( thx for the video bettor slots) At each times i have the message that the ram clear is succesfull.
I have the correct ram clear card because it worked before a few times.
i am now confused about what to do next ? get new clear card, new mpu etc
I put a screen shot i have from the message of the machine
Thx for any help

The NVRAM IC might be bad, do you have another MPU to try? Alpha 1 mpus are plentiful and inexpensive. I would source a good known working one, you will need a backup one anyway, and you should get a couple while parts are easy to get for these.

ASSUMING you are using the correct clear card, double check the procedure...
CORRECTED: Push mpu switch to the left, remove the top card, eject bottom GAME card (but you can leave it in the slot ), put clear card in top slot (TOP SLOT = OS or CLEAR), slide mpu switch to right, When the screen displays the message to clear nvram, turn attendant key, wait for 3 nvram to clear, slide mpu switch to the left, remove clear card and replace with OS card, push back in GAME card (bottom). Slide mpu switch to the right, wait about 8 minutes to boot up...then you can setup the machine by pressing the reset button.

Just to correct post above....
TOP SLOT = OS or CLEAR
BOTTOM SLOT = GAME CARD

I got a new mpu, and i cant get pass DSS signature validation failed. Tried a ram clear with cf card same issue. i then tried my mpu with the nvram error and i was able to perform the ram clear. So i think my clear card is OK. Could it be possible that the version of the new mpu is not the same has my old one and that i would need a different cf card ?
thanks

There are different BIOS, OS, and clear cards. They have to match up.
