Post by: Notslotenough on April 14, 2023, 11:02:53 AM
Hi all, I'm working on a Bally Reel Dice machine that  "CRAPS", "SEVEN", and "FIELD" all pays consistently and correctly.
Not getting anything payment when the reel position is on "HARD WAY"

Cleaning the contacts on the wiper boards and the payout step up unit might help.
Align the hard way payout on the reels, observe the wiper contacts position.
Check for continuity across the boards.

Typical wiper boards attached.

the original reel dice is model 935.

that game was a 6 coin multiplier ... you can find the paperwork for it on https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/

your game looks shorter and it not a multiplier.   Is there a model number plate on the side below the handle or numbers written in sharpie on units inside? update - it's a model 942-1

if you have time, please send highest possible resolution pictures to slotpics@cdyn.com and I'll add them to the site.

- entire front of game
- payout disc
- stuff in top compartment

and as many pictures of the internals as you'd care to take from angles so things like wipers can be seen and labels read.

if ya need more specific info on reading the schematic, yell.  If you have a modified 935, hopefully most of the 935 schematic still applies to what you have.

below is a pic of the payout disc NSE sent me along with a drawing of the disc installed in the game.

the problem is getting the wipers to the 30 trace.   Looks like that payout disc was intended to be used with a double wiper payout counter.

there's also no C.O. trace, so getting a 200 pay without a double wiper setup can't be done either.

if the second wiper is added, then it should be possible to use the disc to support 200 and 30 pays by wiring in other traces to the 30 pay win wire  .... e.g. connect the 30, 28, and 18 trace to the 30 win wire should do it.

also below is the w-923-275 disc drawing that should be in a 935 or 942-1 according to my docs.  That one works with a single wiper.

a second wiper can be screwed onto the spiral cam in existing holes.  Ya just need the wiper arm, ring that electrically ties the two wiper arms together, and mounting screws.

a further pic john sent shows some previous owner cut and used the 100 outboard wiper trace for the 30 hardway pay.  That won't be reliable since the outboard wiper movement is not precise enough.  The payouts would be +/- a few coins, and the cut trace edge will burn from arcing.
