Title: IGT S+ DEAD
Post by: GOS on March 07, 2015, 10:32:32 AM
not often I find an IGT S+ that I can't fix -- this one stumps me - the power connector to the mother board was burned - so I thought that would be the answer - replaced with a good power cord - still no power (flo. work - bv cycles) no lights and no power to the reels (NO DISPAY) - replaced the cpu with a known good cpu - no change - replaced the mother board - no change - fuses tested good - all connections to the mother board - no broken wires - etc.  Only component not checked is the power supply.  Didn't want to swap out the power supply unless it was the only possible answer.

Check those fuse holder caps. There have been instances of fuses checking good, but it was the fuse holder. Might try swapping them around and see if the problem changes.

Check your voltages at the mother board harness. See document attached.

the fact that you are getting the power to the fluorescent lamps and the bv tells me the power is getting to terminal blocks inside the power supply unit. the only thing between the power connector on the motherboard  and the terminal blocks is the transformer and its wiring. Since you don't appear to have any power coming out I would think there is a wire that came off somewhere on the primary side, or the transformer itself is bad (never had one go bad in over 15 years) or the wiring from the terminal block has come undone.  Has to be something very simple and easy to fix.

I had one yesterday that seemed dead except for the bv and lighting, ended up being the cashbox housing door switch. Only differen e was mine had a 3100 error that wouldn't reset
