Communication #5 Error (NOK 1 PCB)

Just for everyone’s future reference in this particular machines case it turned out there were 2 bad reel driver boards which I actually think were causing the noki pcb error.  So my advice is if you can’t seem to solve the noki pcb error check to make sure your reels are operatiional.  2 of the reels never locked up when power was turned on.  You could still spin them freely by hand.  I thought the noki wasn’t talking to them but actually I believe the reel stepper driver was bad and was causing the noki error.  After replacing the 2 reels the machine plays like a champ!!

Behind the reels, there are 2 boards. On the right is a body board. On the left is the NOK board. Each board has its own USB cable. The error is coming from the left board. Thats as far as i got. Finding parts will not be fun

I have shelves full of Aruze parts if you ever need any.
