Bally 1089 Reel Wiper Order

When disassembling the machine for restoration I didn't realize the wipers themselves were different per wheel.
Is there a way to tell which wiper goes to which reel?

The bridged contacts of each wiper are:
a: 3-2-4
b: 2-2-2-3
c: 2-2-5

Are there any identification numbers on the arms?
For instance 2691 2692 2693. The last number is the location.
Also, the wiper boards are identified in order.

Is this a 3 coin machine that pay both ways?

Photos of the machine could be helpful.
As the 1089, 1090 and similar 10– series machines could provide evidence.

Besides that this part of the machine appears to be in very good condition.

No markings on the wiper arms, the boards are marked and in correct.

Based on the contacts available, I'm thinking that the 'a' board is for the right-most reel, and the other two wiper arms can go in either spot, since only the first 4 contacts are relevant, and both other arms have two 2-contact segments at the top. I'll give that a try.

This is the last thing remaining from it's restore. I assume it used to be a house machine at the "Westward-Ho" casino. It's 3 coin single-line machine with no bonuses. 1089-532

The whole inside of the cabinet was coated in grease, the reel mechanism was almost totally locked solid with hardened grease. While cleaning the outside the amount of smoke residue I removed from the glass and cabinet seemed endless.

But now it's all cleaned up, the inside is clean to the touch, the cabinet cleaned up nicely, and the shiney-bits polished up nicely. Just need to finish putting the reel unit back together and it'll be ready for it's first test!

One good thing about a machine preserved in tar and nicotine.
You know it hasn’t been messed with since it left the casino.
Or the last few owners smoked like crazy.

I have rebuilt two Bally slot machines, both were DOA. They had so many problems that they probably sat for decades. The smoke, tar, goop was glued on to everything.
What I have done is take a ton of pictures, everything, and anything, before during after, I over do taking pictures. I post them here from start to finish, so others can benefit from the pictures when they are working on their slot machine. Another benefit is I can go back to my photos here on the forum and see what I am missing, what I forgot, and retrace my steps. Oh, and ask a lot of questions, these people are really smart about Bally Slot Machines, I think they enjoy it when a slot machine comes back from the dead like my two slot machines.

seems like good logic to me.  1089-523 sounds like a serial number.  Can you post a picture of the number plate below the handle ... if there is one ... and also the entire front of the game showing the payouts and reels.

I only have info for three versions of a 1089, and they all used the same reel wipers/wiring ... which don't match yours.  However, the lower rivet arcs were typically used for jackpot bells and tower lights, so you may not have/need those.

Always great to find machines not running.

it's not a 1089 anymore :-)

the 1089 was a 3 coin buy-a-pay game, where added coins "enabled" more paying symbol combinations ... like the left game in david's first pic in post #7.

looks like you've got more-or-less a 1090 now.  The secondary market did a lot of converting of machines to make them whatever the customer wanted.  The serial/model number plate was either what was on the cabinet originally, or it was swapped on to make the game legal (sorta) to sell.

your index disc codes I don't have ... my "master" paperwork copy stops in the mid-70's, so production after that I have no info on.

the game is probably pretty close to the 1090-34 (schem and reel wiper diagram on https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/), tho if it really started life as a 1089, you may want to look at some of those schems also if something doesn't match up.
