BV trouble on purple POG board

 I got one of those knockoff POG boards from china a while back (the purple one) and can't seem to get the bill acceptor to talk to the board. Tried setting it to pulse, serial, different BV brands, nothing seems to work. Anybody have any experience with these, have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

To get my BV to work on a purple board, I had to tell it I had a printer (the one ending in 76 I believe) even though I didn't, and the main door had to be closed.  Sounds strange, but it worked.
