Title: Newbie Seeking Help...
Post by: z-man on January 29, 2024, 08:38:05 AM
Hi All,

A newbie here, though I have been 'lurking' for a while... I hope I am in the right place.

We were gifted a "Money Storm" IGT game, and told that it needed to have it's memory battery replaced.

I obtained some battery holders and looked after that little item (anybody need a battery holder? I have extras...).

Now upon rebooting, the game looks like it needs to be reconfigured.

I have searched through the postings here, but as others have noted, many of the posts presuppose a basic level of knowledge that I apparently do not possess.

It looks like I need to have a "key chip" to make these settings, and even with that I'll need some direction as to what steps to take.

So, some step-by step directions would be really appreciated if such a thing is possible. Something along the lines of "Walk this way"...

In the pictures: The 4 games are our "TikiBar Hangar Casino" - there is an airplane behind you in the picture... yep, this is in our aircraft hangar.

The Pachislo was our first - it was gifted to us. It got us started on this journey...

The Three-reel was our next, a Craigslist find for really cheap. It has a buzzing sound that I need to track down and quiet.

The Video machne was the next, another low-budget acquisition that has been good to us. It's CRT has been replaced by a LCD...

The Three-reel and the video need their bill acceptors rebuilt - mostly just new O-rings I think, and the Pachislo just soldiers on...

The Money Storm has no TITO, and no Coin Acceptor or coin hopper. Bill validator only. No Problem, as we just load up all our games for our guests, and for the quarter machines we just provide a bucket of quarters to play with. But we need to get this one up and running!

So, I am reaching out for help and advice on getting the Money Storm configured for best home use - and any other advice or words of wisdom will be most graciously received!

Cheers all!
Mark

Yes you will need a key chip to reset. Member RB on here should be able to help you out with the key.

Thanks Wayne, I have to admit that using this site is kinda like trying to drink from a fire hose - there is so much information available, if only I knew just what I need and how to apply it ...  what I do know is that I don't know!

Did you ever get this fixed?

Hi,
I thought I had it... the Key Chips came in and I thought I had extinguished the tilts - but the bill validator would not light up fully and the buttons on the deck would not illuminate - suggesting that I missed something. So, I tried again with the key chip and now I'm back to the original error messages. <sigh>
I'll give it another try when I get a moment. This is fairly far down on the list of "Things that Gotta Get Done" though.
Unfortunately the IGT I Game Plus Key 22 Chip Installation Instructions posted on this board are close, but not exact for my "Money Storm" game - so I'm kinda fumbling along with the cascading menus and not being real clear on what some of the terminology means.
I also have "Buffet Mania" chips and belly and top glass for this machine, though I'm not sure if I would have any better luck getting that configured - and my wife dislikes the belly and top glass artwork.
Is the Money Storm a single game machine, or are there other games (poker, blackjack, keno, etc) included as part of the software?
Cheers,
Mark
