Title: button wrench
Post by: Kenokarz on March 22, 2022, 11:42:55 AM
does anyone know where i can get a wrench for the button nuts , i bought one off the arcade sites and it does not fit , the size of the button on a igt  29mm for the large nuts and 26mm for the small ones , i would think the could be 3d printed , some  of these button nuts  are a real pain to get off

Get a set of faucet nut socket wrenches at the hardware store. They are about 6" long and several sizes that are close enough.

What I have done in the past is gotten a piece of Schedule 20 PVC that is close to the nut size.  Heat it up with a heat gun and form it over the nut.  Works like a champ.  You can even make a set.  The PVC pipe is very moldable when heated.  Cut it about 6 inches and plasti dip the end for a little extra grip.

PlumFull warehouse has all sorts of these facet wrenches - bring in a button and the hex nut.

Back in the day this is what we used, and I still have it.  It has a lot of miles on it.  I think a 3D printed one would be interesting and the way to go if you have access to a printer.

The Suzo Happ tool does not show the sizes on each end

The plastic wrench doesn't have the sizes imprinted on it....they're different sizes too.
I've never used the larger side of the socket wrench to loosen/tighten buttons.
I don't know what size that is.
However, it's a great button wrench for the S+, S2000, iGame, Bally5500, and video arcade decks.

If it fits the large buttons , that's all I need.

Stayouttadabunker! Where were you last year when I needed to change one of those illuminated buttons on an industrial machine at work? Thats the find of a century.
I guess I have been lucky, I have never had to change a slot machine button other than the cap or bulb…both accessible from the top. Oh, I think I changed one on on my old F1…no nut or clip, just pressed in. Lol
I really love the person who left feedback on Amazon saying the wrench shouldn’t be called “illuminated”. You deserve a karma + for finding the tool and also for starting my day with humor.

haha....actually, Suzo Happs was selling it a buncha years ago.
I was picking up some other parts and seen it so I bought it just for the heck of it.
I have no idea what the other side of this dang thing fits tho!?!?  :24: :rotfl:
