Title: Bally E1000 Project
Post by: Rthomas-OKC on April 15, 2024, 06:26:42 PM
I recently bought a Bally E1000 series that partially works.  The guy i bought it from sold it to me just like he bought.  He did not know anything about it so i took a chance.  He did show me it would spin and stop. I have not tried to operate it but i have looked over the components.  The first thing that stands out is the hopper.  This has .25 on the Glass, the hopper had $.05 written on it and it had pennies in it. So not sure what is going on there.   The worst thing is the motor and gear box were unbolted and laying in the hopper only connected by the wires.  i looked into the gear box and all the gears have some type of damage on them especially the plastic gear.  I don't know if it got jammed due to wrong coins or ???  I am considering trying to buy a motor/gear box if i can find one but also don't know if the rest of the hopper is in working order.  I included some pictures.  Can anyone give me an opinion and direction.

That motor gearbox is easy to find. However, that is not an E-series hopper. That hopper is for an EM machine. So if you do have an E-series machine, you’ll need to find a new hopper.

I believe I have the hopper you are looking for. The wizard.

can you post pictures of the rest of the machine ... front with door closed as well as internals - with/without the reels and hopper removed.

the serial/model number plate may be the part that doesn't belong to the machine.  Usually the machines needed a paper trail for legal sale, and when a game was assembled from parts or didn't have "provenance", it was pretty common for a random serial plate to be slapped onto the game.
