Title: IGT Model 720?
Post by: mastercontrolprogram on March 19, 2018, 05:50:04 PM
Is the IGT model 720 a Fortune 1 machine? It appears to be but can find nothing online. Thanks in advance for any pointers. Looking to buy maybe. Would be first video poker for me.

Possibly a Fortune I. There was Fortune I, then Fortune II, then PE, then PE+ models, the early ones sometimes look similar to me. The 1981 idplate seems too new to me for it to be a Fortune I, but hey, I've been wrong before.

Can you post a photo of the mpu board (the main circuit board) and the inside of the machine with the main door open? That usually helps to positively identify a machine.

Here's a weak photocopy of a Fortune I machine, it does look like your machine:

probably a fortune 1,  logic boards should be above the monitor.  I would contact Alan at Klar Electronics. and ask him about the machine and parts, especially the monitor,  they used to have a RGB monitor, don't know if tubes are available,  price would be a big factor.

This is just my opinion,   Jim

Although without a look inside one can not be 100% sure, I am 95% sure that is a Fortune 1.  All things look Fortune 1 including the single function buttons on the deck.  I fell in love with these old games. I now own a wall full of them.

If you want to keep the game send the mother board to Alam at K-Lar.  Let him give it the complete once over and new Capacitors.  You will be in for years of fum providing that the  monitor is working properly.  I even know where a brand new monitor, in the box can be had for a reasonable price.

I like them because they are small compact game. I try to pick them up when I see them for sale.

Before Ceronix or RGB we made monitors with Sony televisions.
Those were the ones you would find in the gold colored metal boxes.
The warehouse floor would be littered with piles of plastic TV shells and piles of removed antennas.
I just got a real reel Fortune coin, the older ones with the 3 card rack.
Cute with all of the come on sayings it would show on the display.
The original TV monitor display is still bright.
It is a dime game.

The game is for sale, make an offer and come and get it.
Highest bidder gets it.

I have 1 with the Sony monitor .  You worked on the board and told me the interesting story then.  It says  Fortune Coin  Company and the tag is 1979.  It's a 21 blackjack game.  I  would have yours in my trunk right now if I  lived closer .  My schlepper in Vegas just arrived on the East Coast for a vacation from all of that perfect weather you have out there.
Post a picture of the game so that I can drool at least.

Stay well

Mastercontrolprogram (can we call you MCP for short?)  can you have the seller send you a picture of the inside? It is a F1 but would be nice to see the inside. Does it work?
For mine all I did was re-cap the original Electrohome monitor and it looks and plays like new.

More unique because someone spelled triple wrong.

Bad:

I simply LOVE that game! :hail:  It is like the Bally 873 which is the one that is played most by my parents and in laws here in my little casino room.  I have a beautiful Fortune 1 Caesars Palace theme.  It is like the Bally 831 3 line.  Although VERY unique glass an deck design it gets less play.  If I were in your neck of the woods your game would be in my trunk right now.  I would have to remove that misspelled plaque some how.    IF it is still available my next trip to Vegas than I will take it back with me on the plane as a therapy slot machine.  Weirdos are allowed to bring everything else with them on a flight and claim its is medicinal.   Why not a fortune 1?  They have a real calming effect on me.

Ya, you could glue some feathers to it and take it on board as a therapy pigeon.

:I_agree_1: That's an idea!  The sound board does work.  I can say that its quacking.

No sound on mine. It does not use a Fortune 1 board but has a 3 card rack of TTL chips.
